CORE CURRICULUM

  • Gi Fundamentals

Gi Fundamentals is where you will learn the most essential techniques in BJJ. You will develop a deep understanding of all the major positions — what they are, how to pin and maintain control from dominant positions, and how to escape when you are being pinned. You will also learn key submissions and important fundamental skills such as how to pass the guard, guard retention, and takedowns. Open to students of all levels.

Each class includes 45 minutes of instruction. Students are then guided through structured, positional training rounds before moving into free sparring.

Gi Fundamentals is a 2-year long curriculum. It is taught and trained in the gi.

All students, regardless of rank, are expected to attend at least one session of Gi Fundamentals each week.

  • No-gi Fundamentals

In this course, you will learn a systematic approach to both offense and defense in no-gi. This includes upper body submission systems such as joint locks and no-gi strangles, submission defense, and guard passing and retention systems. The No-gi Fundamentals course also covers key wrestling skills & takedowns. Open to students of all levels.

Each class includes 45 minutes of instruction, followed by 45 minutes of sparring.

No-gi Fundamentals is a 3-year long curriculum. It is taught and trained no-gi.

All students, regardless of rank, are expected to attend at least one session of No-gi Fundamentals each week.

  • Vale Tudo (MMA)

Vale Tudo is Portuguese for “anything goes” — the full contact, no-rules combat that characterized the origins of BJJ.

This course delivers a modern approach to self-defense and combat that includes techniques and strategies used by the best MMA fighters of the present day. In this course, you will develop the skills you need to feel confident defending yourself in a fight.

You will learn fundamental striking, defense against strikes, and the integration of striking and grappling skills. We explore the four essential domains of modern MMA: shootboxing, clinchboxing, grappleboxing, and fenceboxing.

Each class includes one and a half hours of instruction, structured drills, and technical sparring. Open to students of all levels.

Vale Tudo is a 3-year long curriculum. It is taught and trained no-gi.

For beginners and for all students interested in learning self-defense, we highly recommend enrolling in the Vale Tudo course.

  • Gi Advanced

Gi Advanced builds upon the foundational skills learned in the Gi Fundamentals course. It covers a greater breadth and depth of techniques with an emphasis on helping students develop a strong offensive game. In this course, you will learn complete systems of attacking from top and bottom positions, as well as advanced guard passing.

Each class includes 45 minutes of instruction, followed by 45 minutes of sparring.

Gi Advanced is a 2-year long curriculum. It is taught and trained in the gi.

CONSTRAINT-BASED TRAINING

  • Constraint-Based Training

In contrast to typical instruction, Constraint-Based Training (CBT) is teaching approach that helps students learn through the process of solving constraint-based challenges, or "games." This approach encourages students to problem-solve and develop a deeper level of understanding and skill, while training live against resistance. Open to students of all levels.

Each session includes focused, constraint-based games and positional rounds, as well as sparring. CBT sessions are taught and trained no-gi.

Access to all three CBT sessions is included in every membership.
